The School of Professional Psychology at Wright State University (WSU-SOPP) in Dayton, Ohio is an innovator in clinical training, having been among the nation’s first institutions to de­velop a practitioner model program and to confer the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree. We ascribe to a generalist doctoral model of training to prepare psy­chologists to meet the current and future challenges in the field. SOPP also offers emphasis areas in Child, Health/Rehabilitation/Neuropsychology, and Forensic Psychology. WSU-SOPP has continued to evolve over the years, receiving national recognition including APA’s Suinn Award and as a leader in fostering multiculturalism as a fundamental tenet of the doctoral program.

WSU-SOPP is seeking outstanding child and adolescent psychology candidates at the Assistant Professor rank to start as early as July 1, 2017. We are seeking individuals to join our diverse and innovative faculty in our vibrant child emphasis, which is in its fifth year at WSU-SOPP.  Child emphasis faculty are invested in maintaining excellence in training doctoral level child and adolescent psychologists and expanding training and scholarship areas within the emphasis.  The SOPP program is an APA-accredited Psy.D. program in Clinical Psychology.  Required: Applicants must have a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited institution, demonstrated ability to teach practitioner students, and be licensed in Ohio as a psychologist or be able to acquire licensure in Ohio within six months of appointment. We are seeking candidates who possess clinical experience (assessment and therapy), and scholarly activities in child and adolescent psychology.  Preference will be given to applicants who also have pediatric psychology experience. Applicants must also have a broad commitment to the practitioner model of professional education and the School’s mission of integrating diversity into all aspects of our program. All candidates must have documented quality performance in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service consistent with the Assistant Professor rank.
