Autism Psychologist - Grant A Gift Foundation, Las Vegas, NV
/Grant A Gift Autism Foundation – Ackerman Center is looking for a full-time clinical psychologist who has expertise in providing comprehensive psychological and academic evaluations for children and adolescents with a variety of concerns, ages 2 to 20 years of age, along with providing therapy to established patients. The population we typically work with have concerns including language or learning disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other conditions that interfere with school functioning including intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and nonverbal learning weaknesses. The psychologist will also develop treatment plans based on findings, and communicate results to family members, patients, referring professionals, and schools.
The Clinical Psychologist will work within the Neuropsychological department, including testing assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and advanced practicum students. The Clinical Psychologist will collaborate with the Ackerman Center multidisciplinary clinical team and follow all Ackerman Center patient information confidentiality guidelines, reporting guidelines and administrative procedures.
This is a group of multidisciplinary clinicians who specialize in working with infants to young adults, their families, and their schools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The clinical psychologist will conduct evaluations such as assessments of intelligence, academic ability, attention, concentration, sensory-motor function, language, learning and memory.
Writes detailed clinical psychological reports using data from administered tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, or interviews.
Read current literature, talk with colleagues, and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in psychology.
Provide education or counseling to individuals and families.
Participate in educational programs, in-service training, or workshops to remain current in methods and techniques.
Compare patient’s progress before and after pharmacologic, and/or behavioral interventions.
Provide psychotherapy, behavior therapy, or other counseling interventions to patients with neurological disorders.
Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment
Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Completed an APA approved doctorate degree in clinical, counseling or school psychology.
Completion of required internship and post-doctoral fellow programs.
Current license with the Nevada State Board of Psychological Examiners as a fully licensed psychologist or license eligible if out of state.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years of licensed clinical experience
Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current special education methodologies and techniques.
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions and progress.
Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
Ability to assess mental status of clients and to develop individual treatment goals and plans.
Knowledge of psychological test administration to include cognitive evaluations, language assessments, adaptive behavior assessments, and ASD assessments, along with scoring and interpretation.
Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
Skills in preparing and maintaining patient records.
