Grant A Gift Autism Foundation – Ackerman Center is looking for a full-time clinical psychologist who has expertise in providing comprehensive psychological and academic evaluations for children and adolescents with a variety of concerns, ages 2 to 20 years of age, along with providing therapy to established patients. The population we typically work with have concerns including language or learning disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other conditions that interfere with school functioning including intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and nonverbal learning weaknesses. The psychologist will also develop treatment plans based on findings, and communicate results to family members, patients, referring professionals, and schools.

The Clinical Psychologist will work within the Neuropsychological department, including testing assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and advanced practicum students. The Clinical Psychologist will collaborate with the Ackerman Center multidisciplinary clinical team and follow all Ackerman Center patient information confidentiality guidelines, reporting guidelines and administrative procedures.

This is a group of multidisciplinary clinicians who specialize in working with infants to young adults, their families, and their schools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• The clinical psychologist will conduct evaluations such as assessments of intelligence, academic ability, attention, concentration, sensory-motor function, language, learning and memory.

• Writes detailed clinical psychological reports using data from administered tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, or interviews.

• Read current literature, talk with colleagues, and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in psychology.

• Provide education or counseling to individuals and families.

• Participate in educational programs, in-service training, or workshops to remain current in methods and techniques.

• Compare patient’s progress before and after pharmacologic, and/or behavioral interventions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Completed an APA approved doctorate degree in clinical, counseling or school psychology.

• Completion of required internship and post-doctoral fellow programs.

• Current license with the Nevada State Board of Psychological Examiners as a fully licensed psychologist or license eligible if out of state.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of two years of licensed clinical experience

• Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current special education methodologies and techniques.

• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions and progress.

The Westchester Institute of Human Development (WIHD), a University Center for Excellence in

Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) is seeking a full-time

licensed psychologist to provide behavioral treatment services as part of the Integrated

Behavioral Health program providing high-quality, evidence-based, disability advocacy

informed, person-centered psychological services to individuals with Autism and Intellectual and

Developmental disabilities (IDD) of all ages and abilities, and provides evidence-based

treatment for a wide variety of challenging behaviors and co-occurring conditions. We work with

individuals, their families, and agencies to provide behavior analytic, cognitive and behavioral

psychotherapy, caregiver and family training, and other evidence-based modalities.

Psychologists collaborate with staff in assistive technology, dental, speech, and medical

departments to assist our clients with accessing services, with group homes, and schools.

This position is primarily clinical, but within the UCEDD there are optional additional

opportunities to participate in research, training, supervision, and contract work. This position

and establish their career in working with individuals with Autism and IDD, or to develop and

Responsibilities

•  Provide diagnostic formulations and treatment planning.

•  Provide behavioral psychotherapeutic and/or behavior analytic services to children and

adults who display challenging behaviors (self-injurious behavior, aggressive/destructive

behaviors, harmful repetitive behaviors)

Qualification

health service psychology and be licensed to practice in the State of New York. Training

and internship from an APA-accredited doctoral program and internship preferred.

BCBA training and licensure preferred. Those with strong experience requiring

postdoctoral hours may be considered.

Position: Psychologist II,  Child & Adolescent

The UC Davis MIND Institute is a research and clinical center whose mission involves awareness, understanding, prevention, care and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). We are committed to supporting children and families to address the challenges associated with neurodevelopmental disabilities and to do so in a manner that reduces disparities and ensures equitable access for members of our community. The MIND Institute houses 3 federally funded Center grants: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CEDD), and Autism Center of Excellence; and 3 federally funded training grants: Autism Research Training Program, Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Training Program, and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LEND) training program. The MIND Institute is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time clinical psychologist in the Massie Family Clinic. The clinic primarily serves pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) and co-existing psychiatric conditions. 

We are seeking candidates interested in conducting neurodevelopmental/psychological assessments and/or providing evidenced-based anxiety treatment for pediatric patients with NDDs including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Experience in these areas is strongly recommended.

We are invested in recruiting candidates whose training and professional/personal experience align with our mission and enhance our efforts to create a diverse and inclusive environment for our staff, our patients, and our local community. Experience evaluating and supporting gender-expansive youth is a plus. 

Evaluation Responsibilities:

The psychologist will primarily conduct evidence-based clinical assessment for patients (2 – 18 years) with suspected NDDs. A small portion of time will be dedicated to administering research assessments either through the MIND Institute IDDRC Clinical Translational Core or through a faculty member’s research grant. Opportunities for supervision and training are available based on candidates’ experience and interests.

Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive and psychological assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient/family education. Proficiency in the administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observations Scheduled, Second Edition (ADOS-2), as well as cognitive, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment tools commonly used with pediatric populations.

Treatment Responsibilities:

The psychologist will also provide clinical support for our Social Skills Group Training program. Additional individual and group therapy responsibilities are determined based on interest and expertise.

• Social Skills Groups - The psychologist will co-lead evidenced based social skills group training for children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD and other neurodevelopmental concerns.

Experience with social skills training in a group setting is a plus.

• Individual and Group Treatment for Anxiety – Based on interest and experience, the psychologist has an opportunity to join the MIND anxiety treatment team and conduct assessments focused on differential diagnosis of anxiety disorders, provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based on exposure/response prevention (EX/RP) for youth from toddlerhood through age 17, provide 1:1 supervision to intern and postdoctoral level trainees in the provision of CBT, and provide training and workshops to community providers and educators regarding the use of CBT strategies for youth with autism. In addition to individual therapy, the psychologist has opportunities to lead/co-lead a 14-week anxiety therapy group utilizing the Facing Your Fears program. Clinical care will focus primarily on youth with NDDs with anxiety but also includes typically developing patients.

Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety, including EX/RP, to youth with and without autism. Preferred relevant experience in the provision of workshops/trainings/supervision to providers and educators related to applying CBT to young individuals affected by autism.

General Requirements: 

Ideal candidates have experience in both clinical assessment and CBT anxiety treatment; however, candidates with either type of experience will be considered and are strongly encouraged to apply.   Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program, have completed a pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency in related field. Summary of Licensed Clinical Psychologist Position: The Westchester Institute of Human Development (WIHD), a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) is seeking a full-time licensed psychologist to provide behavioral treatment services as part of the Integrated Behavioral Health program providing high-quality, evidence-based, disability advocacy informed, person-centered psychological services to individuals with Autism and Intellectual and Developmental disabilities (IDD) of all ages and abilities, and provides evidence-based treatment for a wide variety of challenging behaviors and co-occurring conditions. We work with individuals, their families, and agencies to provide behavior analytic, cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy, caregiver and family training, and other evidence-based modalities. Psychologists collaborate with staff in assistive technology, dental, speech, and medical departments to assist our clients with accessing services, with group homes, and schools.

This position is primarily clinical, but within the UCEDD there are optional additional opportunities to participate in research, training, supervision, and contract work. This position would be ideal for an early-career or other psychologist looking for a position in which to grow and establish their career in working with individuals with Autism and IDD, or to develop and improve skills in applied behavior analysis. Responsibilities 

Provide diagnostic formulations and treatment planning. 

Provide behavioral psychotherapeutic and/or behavior analytic services to children and adults who display challenging behaviors (self-injurious behavior, aggressive/destructive behaviors, harmful repetitive behaviors) 

Provide services to a diverse multicultural clientele, preferring person-centered and strengths-based disability conceptualizations 

Provide behavior analytic and or behavioral interventions to improve communication, adaptive living skills, academic skills, and wellbeing. 

Provide services either on-site and/or via telehealth as necessary. 

Consult and collaborate with other providers and support staff for skills/therapy generalization and continuity of care. 

Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team of psychologists and psychiatrists who make up the behavioral health team at WIHD. 

Provide continuing education and training in evidence-based practice. 

Maintain medical records and other documentation of services provided.

Supervise interns and post-doctoral psychology fellows and other clinicians.

Conduct seminars for psychology trainees, schools, and other organizations.

Qualification 

Must hold a doctoral degree in the field of clinical, school, counseling, or other area of health service psychology and be licensed to practice in the State of New York. Training and internship from an APA-accredited doctoral program and internship preferred. BCBA training and licensure preferred. Those with strong experience requiring postdoctoral hours may be considered. 

Must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and/or training in an outpatient setting serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Experience in working with individuals with a diverse range of cognitive and verbal abilities.

Experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis, functional behavior assessment, parent training, and cognitive behavioral techniques.

Summary

The Department of Psychology at John Carroll University invites applications for a position in Psychology to begin as soon as possible but no later than January 2023. The position will become the founding program director for a newly-developed Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Master’s Program.

The Lurie Center for Autism, a division of the Department of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children (MGHfC) is seeking a full-time, licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disabilities with a focus on early development and school-aged children.

The Lurie Center, located in Lexington, Massachusetts, is an integrated clinical, research, training, and advocacy program dedicated to treating individuals with ASD and other neurodevelopmental disabilities across the lifespan. We offer a unique, multidisciplinary approach that integrates the services of neurology, developmental pediatrics, gastroenterology, psychiatry, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, educational and transition services, and family support services. The Behavioral Health Pavilion was opened in March of 2020 and includes several inpatient units including: Adolescent, Child, and Neurobehavioral, in addition to a dedicated Psychiatric Crisis Department and Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit. Trainees have the opportunity to work with a number of different specialties such as Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathologists, Nursing and Behavioral Health Clinicians. This fellowship track provides advanced training to individuals who are interested in working in an interprofessional, academic medical setting offering excellence in assessment and treatment for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities currently hospitalized in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Our clinic provides families with comprehensive evaluations and ongoing clinical care for interfering behavior problems and skill deficits. We receive referrals from across the state for our complex diagnostic decision making and behavioral and medical treatment expertise. Services we provide include:

Diagnostic Evaluation – determine appropriate diagnoses and assess for ASD. Evaluation includes a semi-structured caregiver interview and child observation. Feedback, diagnosis and treatment recommendations are provided and family is connected to local supports and resources.

Comprehensive Evaluation – when additional information is needed, formal testing completed to assess ASD, ID, and other diagnoses. Includes ADOS, behavior rating scales, cognitive assessments, and assessment of adaptive skills.

Parent Management Training – address behavior problems and skill deficits through Applied Behavior Analysis-based parent training. This include antecedent interventions (e.g., visual supports, schedule changes), function-based consequences (e.g., planned ignoring, differential attention, positive reinforcement) and teaching replacement skills (e.g., functional communication, coping skills)

Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – address co-morbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, depression) in higher functioning individuals with ASD. Basic CBT is modified to meet the individual’s needs, drawing from a number of interventions such as Facing our Fears and ZONES of Regulation.

Medication Management – psychiatrists and psychiatry residents manage behavior problems through psychotropic medications

Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is offering an Autism Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2022-2023 training year. The fellow will conduct initial evaluations, psychological assessments, individual and family centered therapy and group therapy with patients in the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic. The fellowship will include training conducting diagnostic assessments using gold-standard instruments as well as providing evidence-based therapies and parent training including Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT). Minor rotations in the general, anxiety and eating disorder clinics are available. Fellows may elect to participate in active clinical research projects and to complete a scholarly project during the year.

 About the Division:

The Division of Clinical Behavioral Neuroscience is comprised of three sections: Pediatric Psychology, Pediatric Neuropsychology, and Autism and Neurodevelopment. All members of the Division are committed to research, often involving collaboration with faculty members in the Department of Pediatrics, or other areas of the University, to advance understanding of normal and abnormal neurological function. Because of the broad commitment to Clinical Neuroscience, we expect the Division of Clinical Behavioral Neuroscience to enhance all of its programs through the addition of new faculty members as well as the increase in service, educational and research endeavors over the next few years.

 Qualifications:

·         Ph.D. or a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, school psychology, or counseling psychology from an APA and/or CPA accredited program, internship training, and minimum 1-year post-doctoral training in pediatric psychology or neuropsychology is required.

The UC Davis MIND Institute Clinical Psychology Training Program and the Northern California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND), which includes the California State University Sacramento (CSUS), is recruiting for one 1-year postdoctoral psychology fellow for the 2022-23 academic year who seeks to specialize in Child Clinical Psychology/Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. This is a combined clinical psychology and LEND fellowship program. Fellows participate in 75% clinical assessment and intervention for children with developmental and behavioral health concerns, and 25% LEND interdisciplinary programming, to include development of a leadership project, seminars, and community-based programs. Supervised experiences include consultation, assessment, and treatment of individuals from infancy through adolescence who present with neurodevelopmental concerns, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), developmental or cognitive delays, and comorbid mental health issues. Fellows have opportunities to provide evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and social skills training for children and adolescents. Postdoctoral fellows are hired by UC Davis and receive a gross stipend of $53,760 per year.

The MIND Institute is an internationally known leader in research and clinical care for ASD and neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDD) and plays a strong role as an innovative and broad-based center for educating and training the next generation of professionals in ASD/NDD. All of the 50+ faculty of the MIND Institute are hired through 1 of 20 academic departments and 5 schools at UCD and, thus, all have a commitment to and expertise in teaching and education.  

The LEND program is a graduate level, interdisciplinary, leadership program that aims to improve the health of infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities. CSUS graduate programs participate in the LEND and include faculty and trainees from the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, Education, and Physical Therapy.  

Trainees and faculty from diverse professional disciplines participate in seminars, clinical work, community work and a project related to neurodevelopmental disorders in children. Leadership training is also an important component of this program. Postdoctoral fellows have the unique opportunity to learn in a collaborative and interdisciplinary setting during their postdoctoral training to develop discipline specific and interdisciplinary skills through work with their mentors and other specialists. We have a strong emphasis on culturally and linguistically sensitive and competent, family centered care embedded throughout this program.

Psychology Position - MIND Institute, Massie Family Clinic, Sacramento, CA

The UC Davis MIND Institute is a research and clinical center whose mission involves awareness, understanding, prevention, care and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). We are committed to supporting children and families to address the challenges associated with neurodevelopmental disabilities and to do so in a manner that reduces disparities and ensures equitable access for members of our community. The MIND Institute is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time clinical psychologist in the Massie Family Clinic. The clinic primarily serves pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) and co-existing psychiatric conditions. 

We are seeking candidates interested in conducting neurodevelopmental/psychological assessments and/or providing evidenced-based anxiety treatment for pediatric patients with NDDs including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Experience in these areas is strongly recommended.

We are invested in recruiting candidates whose training and professional/personal experience align with our mission and enhance our efforts to create a diverse and inclusive environment for our staff, our patients, and our local community. Experience evaluating and supporting gender-expansive youth is a plus. 

Evaluation Responsibilities:

The psychologist will primarily conduct evidence-based clinical assessment for patients (0 – 17 years) with suspected NDDs. A small portion of time will be dedicated to administering research assessments either through the MIND Institute IDDRC Clinical Translational Core or through a faculty member’s research grant. Opportunities for supervision and training are available based on candidates’ experience and interests.

Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive and psychological assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient/family education. Proficiency in the administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observations Scheduled, Second Edition (ADOS-2), as well as cognitive, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment tools commonly used with pediatric populations. 

Treatment Responsibilities:

The psychologist will provide clinical support for our Social Skills Group Training program. Additional individual and group therapy responsibilities are determined based on interest and expertise.

• Social Skills Groups - The psychologist will co-lead evidenced based social skills group training for children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD and other neurodevelopmental concerns.

Experience with social skills training in a group setting is a plus.

• Individual and Group Treatment for Anxiety - The psychologist may join the MIND anxiety treatment team and conduct assessments focused on differential diagnosis of anxiety disorders, provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based on exposure/response prevention (EX/RP) for youth from toddlerhood through age 17, provide 1:1 supervision to intern and postdoctoral level trainees in the provision of CBT, and provide training and workshops to community providers and educators regarding the use of CBT strategies for youth with autism. In addition to individual therapy, the psychologist has opportunities to lead/co-lead a 14-week anxiety therapy group utilizing the Facing Your Fears program. Clinical care will focus primarily on youth with NDDs with anxiety but also includes typically developing patients.

Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety, including EX/RP, to youth with and without autism. Preferred relevant experience in the provision of workshops/trainings/supervision to providers and educators related to applying CBT to young individuals affected by autism.

General Requirements: 

Ideal candidates will have experience in both clinical assessment and CBT anxiety treatment; however, candidates with either type of experience will be considered and are strongly encouraged to apply.   Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program, have completed a pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency in related field. Postdoctoral Fellowship - Early Childhood - Nemours Hospital, Delaware

The Division of Behavioral Health at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware has an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship with Emphasis in Early Childhood  beginning August or September 2022.

This fellowship position includes:

• Assessment of autism spectrum disorder through the State of Delaware early intervention program Child Development Watch (children with developmental delays ages birth to three). Under the supervision of a psychologist, the fellow will spend one day per week completing autism-specific assessment for children 0-3 years of age through CDW. Additionally, this position provides the opportunity to work closely with the CDW team throughout the process.

• Comprehensive psychological testing for children birth to six and developmental assessments for children at high risk for developmental disabilities including NICU graduates (NICU Follow Up Program) and those with a history of craniosynostenosis.

• Interdisciplinary feeding clinic. This clinic provides the opportunity to work with other medical providers during consultations for children presenting with chronic feeding difficulties, often in the context of complex medical histories. Additionally, the fellow will gain experience in providing behavioral feeding consultations and therapy.

• LEND Training. The Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellowship program is an interdisciplinary training program for healthcare professionals and family members of children with chronic developmental conditions. Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and the University of Delaware, along with other community organizations, have partnered together to develop unique didactic, training, and clinical experiences to create leaders in systems delivery for children with special needs and their families. The program will include specialized didactics, interdisciplinary clinical opportunities in both the medical field and in the community, partnership with families, and a capstone research project. LEND fellows will spend one day a week dedicated to LEND activities. LEND is supported by a grant from the Maternal Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There are more than 40 LEND programs in the United States, and this is the first LEND program in Delaware.

This position is open to graduates from American Psychological Association-approved doctoral programs who will have completed their internship training and all degree requirements by the start of fellowship.
