Job Overview:
Avela Health is seeking dedicated and experienced psychologists ready to make a difference in the lives of autistic youth and their families. Psychologists at Avela conduct diagnostic evaluations and deliver evidence-based therapy for autistic children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, executive functioning concerns, and other challenges. Psychologists also provide parent-mediated interventions to help parents enhance their skills in effectively parenting a neurodivergent child.

Key Responsibilities:

●      Work from a neurodiversity-informed and strength-based perspective such that recommendations and strategies and tailored to the unique needs of each client

●      Provide diagnostic evaluations for children, youth, and adults who are questioning autism or who have been referred for an autism diagnostic evaluation

●      Provide 1:1 and/or group therapy to autistic children and teens using evidence-based interventions

●      Deliver services via telehealth, ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and consistent engagement with families.

●      Collaborate with a multidisciplinary remote team, maintaining clear communication and cooperation to deliver comprehensive care.

●      Provide psychoeducation regarding autism from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective

Qualifications:

●      Licensed in one or more states as a psychologist, social worker, or nurse practitioner

●      Expertise in behavior therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy with neurodivergent individuals

●      Documented experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations from a neurodiversity-affirmative perspective

●      Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment.

●      Commitment to a family-centered, strengths-based approach to supporting autistic individuals and their families.
