This position is under the supervision of the Chief of Psychology, Institute on Development and Disability, with support from the Director of the OHSU Autism Program. Primary duties include provision of direct assessment and intervention services for children and their families, with a focus on ASD (e.g., differential diagnosis, team-based assessment, behavioral therapy, parent training). Reliable administration of the ADOS-2 is necessary for interdisciplinary team evaluations. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking exceptional candidates for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position in the Intramural Research Programs (IRP), Developmental Neurogenomics Unit (DNU), headed by Dr. Armin Raznahan.

The DNU is dedicated to better understanding the biology of neurodevelopmental disorders in ways that might ultimately help to improve disease prediction, detection and treatment.  Clinical research within the DNU involves “deep phenotypic” studies of patients carrying known genetic variants that increase risk for neuropsychiatric difficulties – with a current focus on sex chromosome aneuploidy syndromes. The DNU gathers rich multidimensional measures of behavior, cognition, brain structure and function, as well as tissue samples for genomic analysis. These data are integrated to identify pathways of risk that link genetic variations to alterations of brain and behavioral development. All clinical studies are embedded within a large longitudinal study of brain and behavioral development in health encompassing behavioral and structural neuroimaging data from over 1,500 assessment time points.

A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available within the DNU for a highly-motivated individual interested in gathering and analyzing measures of autistic symptomatology, general cognitive ability and neuropsychological function in youth with genetic disorders of brain development. This position offers great flexibility in analysis of rich and untapped behavioral/cognitive datasets, plus special opportunities for training in the integration of such data with neuroimaging-derived measures of brain organization in patients and controls. The post will involve an approximately 50/50 split between gathering data through patient assessments, and the analysis/write-up of data for publication. The DNU provides an ideal setting for cross-disciplinary training and special attention is placed on supporting the personal development of team members through collaboration and mentorship. Mentorship and supervision will be provided by Dr. Raznahan, and further clinical training and didactics will be provided from senior developmental neuropsychology colleagues within the NIMH IRP.

An ideal candidate will have experiences that align with four core components of the post: (1) Helping to shape the behavioral/neuropsychological battery for use in youth with neurogenetic disorders (2) Performing valid and reliable diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as cognitive and neuropsychological assessment for the clinical research setting, (3) Providing written and verbal feedback to families, and (4) Analyzing and publishing data on cognitive/behavioral variation in patients with genetically-defined disorder of brain development.

Highly motivated individuals with a record of productive research in the aforementioned domains are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology [or equivalent based on combinations of Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 5/3 years specialized experience (respectively)]. The ability to complete research-reliable ADI-R and ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Interview and Observation Schedule respectively) assessments is also highly desirable. The DNU seeks candidates who combine these clinical qualifications with a demonstrable interest in studying inter-relationships between different dimensions of cognition/behavior, and how these dimensions relate to in vivo measures of brain organization.

Spanish-Speaking Generalist

Nemours is dedicated to providing services to a diverse population, many of whom in the greater Wilmington area and downstate are Spanish-speaking.  We are seeking a Spanish-speaking pediatric psychologist who has experience working with a wide array of patient populations in a medical setting including endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, neurology, and cardiology, to name but a few.  While it would be desirable for the candidate to develop an area of focused expertise, we are seeking an individual who can work with Spanish-speaking families across illness populations.  Similar to other positions posted, the psychologist will work with interdisciplinary teams in medical clinics and provide inpatient consultation-liaison services, outpatient psychological services, and psychological assessment.

In addition to meeting the needs of patients and families, the psychologist will work with hospital-wide initiatives to improve care for and reduce health disparities in the Spanish-speaking community.  Moreover, the psychologist will further the development of cultural competence within the division and provide staff and student trainings, develop trainees who are Spanish-speaking, and provide supervision for Master’s-level and doctoral level trainees.

Neurodevelopmental and Genetic Conditions

Nemours is seeking to expand the services we provide to children with neurodevelopmental and genetic conditions.  We are seeking a psychologist with experience working with this population of children, specifically with regard to behavioral treatment and testing/assessment.  The strong candidate will have solid experience with standardized assessment measures as well as assessing children who may not be amenable to standardized methods of testing (e.g., visual and motor impairments, nonverbal).  The position will involve working with children with specific or global delays, neuromuscular diseases and complex challenges.  The psychologist will work with other psychologists with similar interests, other disciplines in multidisciplinary clinic settings, and will provide consultation for inpatients where their expertise is needed.  In addition, the psychologist will conduct diagnostic evaluations in an early childhood developmental clinic.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Assessment and Treatment of ASD and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

 The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Lurie Center seeks up to two full-time, one-year postdoctoral fellowship candidates in neuropsychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.  The fellowship is a joint position through the MGH Lurie Center for Autism and Aspire programs in Lexington, Massachusetts. Postdoctoral fellows hold clinical fellow appointments at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children – Lurie Center and Harvard Medical School. The Lurie Center is a multidisciplinary program designed to evaluate and treat children, adolescents, and adults—providing expertise in neurology, developmental pediatrics, gastroenterology, psychiatry, psychology, psychopharmacology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech language pathology. MGH Aspire helps children, teens, and adults with high cognitive autism spectrum disorder or a related social profile make social connections and develop independence.  Interventions include intensive camp programs, social groups, internship programs and consultation and training.  Postdoctoral fellows will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to complete diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments, under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. They will also have the opportunity to provide social skills programming, outpatient therapy, school consultation and consultation to patients and their families.  All postdoctoral fellows will participate in a variety of training and supervision experiences including: weekly supervision, seminars, rounds, and other didactic experiences available at the Lurie Center and MGH. Opportunities for research and school consultation are also available.

Strong neuropsychological testing experience and prior training in the assessment of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (including the ADOS) are preferred. Fellowship start date is scheduled for September 1, 2018 (may be negotiable). The Ohio State University Nisonger Center – UCEDD offers interdisciplinary clinical and research postdoctoral training in Intellectual Disability (ID) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Nisonger Center offers flexible and individualized interdisciplinary clinical and research training in the areas of ID/ASD. Areas of emphasis can include diagnostics, transition programs, health promotion, applied behavior analysis, dual diagnosis, adult social programs, school consultation, and scale development. Positions also typically include clinical experience in diagnostic clinics, supervised by a licensed clinical psychologist. The postdoctoral fellowship is 12 months beginning September 1, 2018, with an optional second year pending funding.  Description: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in clinical psychology. Candidates are expected to have completed an APA-accredited program with eligibility to obtain Connecticut psychology licensure.  The Associate will join an interdisciplinary research team consisting of clinical and developmental psychologists, experts in neuroimaging, computer science, neurodevelopment, and statistics as part of the Yale Autism Center of Excellence (ACE) Program Project Grant activities at the Yale Child Study Center (YCSC).   The Yale ACE Research Program is a five-year study, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, which aims to pinpoint early indicators of autism spectrum disorder in during prenatal and early post-natal development. The YCSC is a leading institution for clinical diagnostic services and multidisciplinary research on ASD involving behavioral neuroscience, physiology, neuroimaging, molecular genetics, and treatment.  

The Associate will go through a 2-year clinical training program, working under the supervision of licensed psychologists team including Drs. Powell, Fontenelle, and Chawarska. The Associate will be responsible for administering standardized assessment measures to children and their parents, will gain experience in eye-tracking, fetal and neonatal imaging, as well as in manuscript preparation and grant writing.  Additional training opportunities will include participation in a weekly seminar on issues related to diagnosis and treatment of ASD, weekly Departmental Grand Rounds, as well as other extensive didactic experiences available at the Yale Child Study Center, Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, Yale School of Medicine, and Yale University.  Candidates with previous experience with young children with autism or other developmental disorders and research track record are strongly encouraged to apply.

Description: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in developmental, clinical, or social psychology/neuroscience to be involved in prospective studies of infants at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) as part of the Yale Autism Center of Excellence (ACE) Research Program.  The Yale ACE Research Program is a five-year study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, which aims to pinpoint early indicators of ASD during prenatal and early postnatal periods. This effort brings together researchers from Departments of Child Study Center, Radiology, Pediatrics, and Statistics.

The two-year research training program will focus on behavioral, attentional, and neuroimaging studies of early development.  Strong methodological background and publication/presentation record is required. Prior experience in autism research and/or work with pregnant mothers and infants although not required, will be highly valued.  The Associate will assist with neuroimaging studies, administer neurobehavioral assessment measures, participate in the design, implementation, and analysis of new experimental procedures, and will gain experience in manuscript preparation and grant writing.  The Yale Child Study Center is a leading institution for clinical diagnostic services and research on ASD, with a multidisciplinary approach to autism research spanning projects in behavioral neuroscience, neuroimaging, molecular genetics, and treatment. Training opportunities will include participation in a weekly seminar on issues related to diagnosis and treatment of ASD, weekly Grand Rounds, as well as other extensive didactic experiences available at the Yale Child Study Center, Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, Yale School of Medicine, and Yale University.
